Announcements

Starting May 2, 2012 - Ending June 2, 2012 Expired

To all ‘critters’:
It has been a long time coming but, as some of you may remember, a proposal for the creation of the CMS board was launched at the final plenary of the 6th International Critical Management Conference, Warwick, July 2009. The proposal included issues regarding structure of the committee, as well as procedural issues on how to constitute it. These are presented below:
A. After a discussion, the general agreement was that such a board would be constituted of representatives of those who have organized the conference in the past. This is also the case with other conferences (Labour Process, SCOS, etc). This is to preserve the existing knowledge regarding CMS conference organization (timing, style, values, and processes) and to guarantee a level of continuity.
It was also agreed for one representative to be included from the following areas: Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, South America, North America and Middle East.
The board will include a representative of PhD candidates.
B. The steering committee will be constituted by a general vote open to all CMS list members. Timing of nominations is from today April 20, 2012 to May 9, 2012. All nominations are to be submitted to cmsvoting@gmail.com. The url for the web-based system to be used for voting will be emailed to the lists as soon as all the nominations are collected.
Nominations are now open for:
1 PhD representative: eligible is anyone who is a PhD candidate working in the field of CMS
1 representative from each of the following geographical regions:
Africa
Asia
Australasia
Europe
South America
North America
Middle East
Eligibility extends to anyone working in an academic institution who pursues critical management values in his or her work and has been involved with the international critical management conference and the broader CMS international community. Individuals fulfilling the characteristics of eligibility are free to self-nominate.
Please send an email to Emily Crawley at cmsvoting@gmail.com also submitting i) a photograph, ii) a 150-word bio about yourself and CMS. This information will be uploaded to the voting platform available for perusal to all CMS voters.
Thanks in advance for your participation.
All the best,
Emily and the CMS voting team.
